Ye Lin^
Ye Lin graduated from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore in July 2007, where she studied violin performance with Qian Zhou, Head of Strings Department. A National Arts Council-Conservatory music scholar, she was a prize winner in the 1998 China National Violin Competition and the 9th Wieniawski International Violin Competition in Poland in 2003. She won the First Prize in the Violin Open Category of the Singapore National Piano and Violin Competition in 2005 and is also the winner of the First Yong Siew Toh Conservatory Concerto Competition in 2004. She has been the acting Concert Master of the Conservatory Orchestra since 2003 and made her solo debut with the orchestra in Paganini's virtuosic Violin Concerto No. 1 in November 2004.

Ye Lin started learning the violin when she was 5 years old. From 1991 to 2000, she studied at the primary and middle schools attached to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music with renowned violin Professor Shi-Xiang Zhang and Fang Lei. A member of the Asian Youth Orchestra from 2001 to 2002, she has toured with the orchestra in Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia and the Philippines. Her experience in international competitions includes participating in the 2002 Jozsef Szigeti International Violin Competition in Budapest and the 2005 Long-Thibaud International Violin Competition in Paris.

Ye Lin is an active Chamber musician as well. She performs frequently with her string quartet and piano trio, coached by the T’ang Quartet, at the Esplanade Recital Studio, Victoria Concert Hall and National Museum. She was awarded the Diploma in Music by NAFA in June 2003. In August 2006 she was chosen to study at the Peabody Institute at John Hopkins University as an exchange student where she studied with Victor Danchenko.
