Section Ding Xiao Feng Ding Xiao Feng was born into a musical family in Shanghai, China. He studied the cello when he was 8 at the Central Music Conservatory with Prof. Song Tao. During his studies he represented the Conservatory at many solo performances. Upon graduation he joined the China National Central Ballet Troupe Orchestra as Assoc. Principal Cellist. From 1982-84, he studied at the University of California, USA on full scholarship and was a student of Prof Peter Farrell. During this period he engaged in solo performances, chamber music and orchestra music. In 1985 he joined the SSO. His hobbies include collecting stamps and playing billiards (not a very good player though). Back to musician list
