Lee Kee Hoi |
Lee Kee Hoi has been both a flautist and piccoloist of the SSO since 1982. He self-taught himself the flute and in 1978 became the first local artiste to obtain the Licentiate of the Royal School of Music. Two years later the Public Service Commission awarded him a scholarship to Queensland Conservatorium of Music to receive further music instruction. There he studied the flute with Mr David Cuppins and piccolo with Mrs Jeanette Manricks. He also received the Lewis B S Reid music prize for the Best Student Performer. Kee Hoi is also an active committee member and composer in the Singapore Association of Composers. Kee Hoi finds solace in quiet parks and seashores. It is in such peaceful surroundings that he meditates and frees himself from the rude noises of the world.
