Synopsis:
|
Acclaimed pianist Steven Osborne returns in the Piano Concerto No. 1, one of Shostakovich's most delightfully glib and ebullient works. Enter the world of the dark arts, as Mussorgsky's ever-popular orchestral depiction of a witches' sabbath is paired with James MacMillan's musical account of a Scottish woman who was burnt as a witch in the 1600's.
