It is also a great opportunity to have all your questions answered in the Question-and-Answer session – no holds barred! Ideal for families and for those new to and inquisitive about classical music.

PRE-CONCERT TALKS
Join speakers who are veterans in the field of music as they bring you new insight into pieces to be performed at SSO concerts and share with you what to look out for during the concert. These talks are held at 6.30pm at Library@Esplanade for Esplanade concerts and 7pm at VCH for VCH concerts. Admission is free.

SYMPHONY CHATS
Join Maestro Lan Shui and his guests at the Symphony Chat, where they will share their thoughts, views and ideas on music. If you have a question about what you’ve just heard, this is also the perfect opportunity for you to get them answered.

OPEN REHEARSALS
You may not know just how much hard work goes into preparing for each and every SSO concert – so why not sit in on one of our Open Rehearsals? See how the conductor shapes each note and phrase with the orchestra, and hear how individual musical parts come together to form a harmonious whole.

SSO ON CAMPUS
Take a break from the books and enjoy some ear candy for an hour or so! The SSO performs on campuses, attracting not just students and faculty but also music lovers of all ages who live or work in the vicinity.

A Sunday evening with the SSO at the Singapore Botanic Gardens is always a truly memorable event. Each SSO in the Park concert offers you the best outdoor music in Singapore, drawing an audience of thousands - enjoy light classics and popular favourites as you partake of a special weekend picnic with family, friends and loved ones.

SSO @ THE HEARTLANDS
Orchestra melodies fill the air when the SSO performs at heartland venues across the island. Playing a wide range of familiar pieces, including movie themes and other popular pieces, the Orchestra reaches out continually to new audiences who may not have had a chance to catch us in action at the Esplanade.
