Sometimes called a 'vibraharp', the vibraphone is a percussion instrument with tuned metal bars arranged keyboard-style like the xylophone. Notes are produced by vibrations of metal bars amplified by a special type of resonator or electronically. Rubber-tipped or yarn-wound rubber mallets are normally used to strike the bars.
