OVERVIEW

A puppet comes to life and falls in love with a ballerina in Stravinsky's Petrushka, a colourful masterpiece filled with gorgeous Russian folk melodies. Expect grandiose and wild passion in Brahms' First Piano Concerto, featuring German pianist Martin Helmchen.

Pianist Nikolai Lugansky, who was scheduled to perform with Okko Kamu and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra in the Esplanade on March 24, has cancelled his Singapore appearance due to illness. German pianist Martin Helmchen will substitute for Lugansky in Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1. The programme remains otherwise unchanged.
