Victoria Concert Hall

OVERVIEW

This all-French programme opens with Chausson’s Chanson Perpetuelle, a piece inspired by a poem about a heartbroken lover singing her melancholic song. Ravel’s Piano Trio in A minor is an energetic piece, with the patriotic composer motivated to complete the work so he could join the war to defend his country. The concert closes with Fauré’s lyrical and harmonious Piano Quartet No. 1
