Stravinsky once called himself “Mozart’s continuer”, the two great composers linked across eras by the ideals of Neo-Classicism. Pure architecture, inventive wit, melodic sparkle – witness these in abundance in Stravinsky’s characteristically piquant concertos for piano, and two unassuming but unmistakably Mozartian symphonies. SSO Music Director Hans Graf directs this lively programme featuring the accomplished pianist Alexei Volodin.
