To my friends pictured within

“Herein is enshrined the soul of …..” is the mysterious dedication inscribed in the score of Elgar’s formidable Violin Concerto. The remarkable Rachel Barton Pine tackles the great 20th century British composer’s virtuoso showpiece. American maestro Andrew Litton follows up with one of the crown jewels of classical music, the Enigma Variations, whose noble heart within lies the sublime “Nimrod”.

An exciting, boundary-defying performer – Pine displays a power and confidence that puts her in the top echelon. - The Washington Post
