The Singapore Symphony Orchestra’s new Chief Conductor Hans Graf opens our 20/21 season, conducting as his first piece a world premiere by preeminent Singaporean composer Zechariah Goh. In her SSO debut, the brilliant violinist Karen Gomyo performs the Shostakovich First Violin Concerto: monumental, madcap, ominous and dazzling, it’s an intense spectacle from start to finish, and a fitting match to Beethoven’s mighty Eroica Symphony.
If all goes well and concerts resume, this will surely be a historic season-opening, with two massive orchestral showcases conducted by our new Chief Conductor.
