French pianist extraordinaire Lise de la Salle is in the spotlight in Gershwin’s atmospheric Piano Concerto in F, originally called the New York Concerto. Smoked with jazz and lit by Broadway, it liberates, it reinvigorates.
The highly versatile John Axelrod conducts the SSO, who will also showcase Korngold’s monumental Symphony evoking the Romantic spirit of his European forerunners. Singapore’s own Kelly Tang is represented by his pioneering work, the exciting Apocalypso.
