MISSA SOLEMNIS · MASAAKI SUZUKI
Esplanade Concert Hall
Missa Solemnis in D major, Op. 123
From the heart - may it return to the heart
1819. The year Singapore was founded, the year Beethoven wrote the first notes of his splendid Missa Solemnis, one of his greatest achievements. He wrote on the opening page: "From the heart - may it return to the heart" - this grand choral statement of conviction stars the Singapore Symphony Chorus directed by famed Japanese maestro Masaaki Suzuki.
