Synopsis
In 1974 the legendary jazz pianist Bill Evans (1929 – 1980) entered the Columbia studios in New York with his trio and a large orchestra to record the remarkable album Symbiosis for the German jazz label MPS. The score of this extraordinary composition by Claus Ogerman (1930 – 2016) was subsequently lost and has never been performed live in concert.
Until now. In this unique concert, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra pays tribute to the genius of Bill Evans with a performance of Symbiosis, reconstructed in collaboration with Singaporean composer Ding Jian Han. Hear this bewitching fusion of symphonic and jazz elements played by the SSO with jazz pianist Thomas Clausen and his trio. Completing the evening is the Bill Evans Suite written by composer-trumpeter Palle Mikkelborg for the Bill Evans Trio.

Admission Advice
- Children must be age 5 and above to be admitted into the hall.
- Children under 5 will not be admitted into the hall, even with a ticket.
- Please bring along proof of child’s age, such as a student concession pass, as random checks may be conducted at the venue.
- We reserve the right to ask parents to bring children out of the hall should they be disruptive during the performance.
- No admission without a ticket.
- You are strongly advised to be seated 15 minutes before the performance start time.
- Latecomers will only be admitted at appropriate pauses during the show or during intermission, if any.
- Photos, video and audio recording are strictly NOT allowed when artistes are performing.
- These are allowed when artistes are not performing, such as during bows and applause. Please disable camera flash before taking photos.
