Since its inaugural performance of Brahms’ German Requiem in June 1980, the Singapore Symphony Chorus (SSC) has come a long way under Choral Director Lim Yau and established itself as one of the finest choirs in the region. The SSC regularly joins the Singapore Symphony Orchestra for performances of choral masterpieces, highlights include Poulenc’s Gloria, Britten’s War Requiem and Bach’s St John Passion, amongst many others. The SSC is made up of volunteers from all walks of life, from Singapore and beyond.

The 14/15 season has seen the SSC return home to the Victoria Concert Hall, and in November 2014 they gave their first solo concert performing Kodály’s Missa Brevis, Vasks’ Dona Nobis Pacem and Bruckner’s Motets under Lim Yau. The season also saw the SSC perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, collaboration with the BBC Singers.
