VCHpresents: Intimate Moments from West to East 乐享时光: 从西至东

‘Intimate Moments’ is a new series of concerts giving audiences the chance to watch, listen and converse with a select musician of the Singapore Symphony family. The concerts are intimate – this one is held in the cosy Victoria Concert Hall Dance Studio – and is a chance to get up close to a musician and their instrument.

This November, meet violinist Zhang Si Jing with fellow SSO musicians as they perform music by the likes of Shostakovich, Piazzolla and Sarasate. The concert is supported by Lianhe Zaobao 联合早报.

Zhang Si Jing started her violin studies in Shanghai at the tender age of 5 before she moved to Japan. After graduating from the Tokyo National University of Music and Arts, she furthered her violin studies at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in the UK, where she excelled in her studies and won several prizes, including the prestigious Paganini Prize and the Dianne Bolton Prize.

In 2007 Zhang won a place with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) while pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in performance at the RNCM, where she graduated with Distinction. Zhang Si Jing plays on the Santo Seraphin 1745 from the Rin Collection.
