Violinist Kam Ning’s Early Memory of SSO

My earliest memory of playing with the SSO was when we did Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole with Lan Shui conducting sometime back in the 1990s.
Being young and relatively “green” when it came to making a concerto with symphonic orchestra a real chamber music experience, I would say that I probably had more of an attitude of “my way or the highway.” I can only thank Lan at the time for graciously accommodating me. I’ve been so fortunate to have been able to collaborate with the SSO so many times over the past decades and have learnt so much with each chamber music adventure with you all.
