Frequently Asked Questions
For more details, please contact the Choral department at 6602 4215/4241 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
When will the audition results be released?
First round of audition results are slated to be out in mid-October. Shortlisted auditionees will be contacted via email; the choral administration will get in touch with more information including venue and details of a face-to-face audition slot.
When and where are practices held?
Rehearsals will commence 18 February 2019, on Mondays and Thursdays, at the Victoria Concert Hall, in the Dance Studio on level 2. Participants will be expected to attend all rehearsals on concert week of 1 April 2019.
I get really nervous before auditions. What should I do?
We all get audition jitters! However, this is a key process which provides us with an opportunity to meet you, hear your voice and assess your sight-reading skills.
We want to make your audition experience as pleasant as possible. Make sure your chosen song is well prepared and that you have spare photocopies of the music for the panel and accompanist. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Treat yourself to a quiet day before coming in to audition for us – if you are rushed for time it is difficult to focus properly.
What are the expectations of participants of this project?
Participants are expected to fully commit to rehearsals, and perform at all scheduled performances, and demonstrate professionalism and discipline during rehearsals.
Why should I participate in this?
This is your perfect chance, if you’ve always aspired to sing amongst other like-minded individuals. Not to mention the unparalleled opportunity to sing alongside Singapore Symphony Orchestra, and guest conductor, Eímear Noone.
Are there any costs involved in participating in this project?
A refundable deposit of SGD$50 is payable following a successful audition into this project. This deposit will be reimbursed only upon the completion of the concert.
