Synopsis
Concert:
Designed for school band members, this engaging concert by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra will feature set pieces from the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation 2025, a choice piece selected by our audience, as well as a variety of band music in different styles. Students will learn about the key elements to music-making and performance excellence, appreciate common hurdles and receive tips to better their musicianship from our musicians and conductor, Leonard Tan.

This concert is suitable for members of schools bands (Secondary schools, Junior Colleges/Centralised Institute).

(NEW) Mentorship Opportunity:
Exclusive to student musicians attending the Band Demonstration Concert for School Bands 2025, who are keen to further their knowledge on performing at a professional level, with musicians from the Singapore Symphony. Students will get an up-close glimpse of how professional musicians work, and the opportunity to engage with and learn from mentors through a rehearsal and short session and gain instrumental tips on performance excellence.

What's in the experience:
- A chance to observe rehearsal up close from the Choir Gallery
- A 50-min post-rehearsal mentorship session with our SSO mentors, where you'll be able learn to some tips and tricks on playing techniques and share conversations on musical journeys with our musicians
Students must play the instrument for which they have signed up to be mentored for.
