Hans Graf / Quantedge Music Director
Armed with a spirit of musical curiosity and discovery, creative programming and his commanding presence on stage, Austrian conductor Hans Graf has raised orchestras to new heights while winning audiences young and old alike. With Hans Graf, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra has achieved “a brave new world of music-making under inspired direction” (The Straits Times) since his appointment as Chief Conductor in the 2020/21 season, followed by five outstanding seasons as Music Director. Hans Graf’s farewell season in 2025/26 celebrates his remarkable achievements with his being named the SSO’s first Quantedge Music Director.

Rodolfo Barráez / Associate Conductor
A natural communicator with infectious charisma, Berlin-based Venezuelan conductor, Rodolfo Barráez, brings remarkable vivacity, sensitivity, and zeal to his artistry. The 2025/26 season sees him continue his tenure with both the Singapore Symphony and the Simón Bolívar Orchestra of Venezuela as Associate Conductor.

Choo Hoey (BBM) / Conductor Emeritus
Choo Hoey is the Singapore Symphony Orchestra’s founding Music Director, from 1979 to 1996. His pioneering work building the orchestra from its modest beginnings has earned him the Cultural Medallion (1979) and the Public Service Star (1982).

Lan Shui (BBM) / Conductor Laureate
Lan Shui (Music Director, 1997-2019) is renowned for his abilities as an orchestral builder and for his passion in commissioning, premiering and recording new works by leading Asian composers. He is the recipient of several international awards, as well as Singapore’s Cultural Medallion – our highest accolade in the arts, and the Bintang Bakti Masyarakat (Public Service Star, or BBM).

Eudenice Palaruan / Choral Director
Choral Director of the Singapore Symphony Chorus, Eudenice Palaruan wears many hats as chorister, composer, arranger and music pedagogue.

Wong Lai Foon / Choirmaster
Choirmaster of the Singapore Symphony Children’s and Youth Choirs, Wong Lai Foon enjoys working with young people and nurturing their love for music and singing.

Ellissa Sayampanathan / Assistant Choral Conductor
Ellissa Sayampanathan is the Assistant Choral Conductor of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. She is a Singaporean conductor and music educator who believes in the building of community and music literacy through choral singing.
