Themed Café Society, this year’s edition of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra benefit dinner at the Shangri-La Hotel promises to be an enchanting affair, with this year’s funds going towards the nurturing of young talents in Singapore.

Organised yearly by the Ladies’ League of the SSO, the Guest-of-Honour for the April 22 fundraiser is Professor Tommy Koh, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who also serves on the SSO Council. Befittingly, the evening’s entertainment will feature the Singapore Symphony Children’s Choir and Mina Ellen Kaye, young award-winning Singaporean musical theatre performer, who will share the stage with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

Graduating in 2012 with a First Class Honours degree in Musical Theatre from LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore, Mina Kaye has performed in over 16 professional productions in the Singapore theatre scene. After an extensive career which included stints in Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and London, Mina was offered a scholarship to the elite Boston Conservatory’s MFA in Musical Theatre programme. During that time, she starred in Michael John LaChiusa’s The Wild Party in the leading role of Queenie, directed by Neil Donohoe. She was also part of the ensemble of an original new musical, Coolsville, directed by Doug Lockwood, which earned a nomination for Best Ensemble at the 2015 ArtsImpulse Theatre Award.

Mina is thrilled and very honored to be performing with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra this year.

Press photographers should register with the Media Officer before the event.
