The Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) will be conducting open auditions for its “President’s Young Performers” concert.
The annual concert shines a spotlight on young talented musicians in Singapore — giving them the rare chance to perform with the SSO. Successful candidates will perform as soloist in a concerto with the SSO at the Victoria Concert Hall in in September 2020.
Auditions will be held for shortlisted Singaporean conductors and instrumentalists performing on Western classical instruments such as strings, woodwind, brass and percussion.
Past performers have included pianists Abigail Sin, Azariah Tan and Lim Yan; violinists Chan Yoong-Han and Loh Jun Hong; and conductors Darrell Ang and Joshua Tan.
Eligibility:
Applicants should be Singapore citizens. Instrumentalist applicants should be no more than 25 years of age, and conductor applicants, no more than 35 years of age, as of 1 July 2020.

Shortlisted applicants will be notified in January 2020 to perform a complete concerto in a live audition taking place in February 2020. Applicants should arrange for their own pianists to play the orchestral part during the live audition.
