Revel in some of Puccini’s most luscious melodies as the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and Choirs present a concert version presentation of La bohème, one of the most beloved operas of all time, on April 27 and 28, at the Esplanade Concert Hall.

American soprano Angel Blue has performed with the Berliner Philharmoniker, Münchener Philharmoniker, Israel Philharmonic, Wiener Staatsoper, Semperoper Dresden, Los Angeles Opera, Teatro alla Scala Milan, San Francisco Opera, Frankfurt Opera, and at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Theater an der Wien, Auditorio Nacional de Música, Seoul Arts Center and Edinburgh International Festival. Her operatic roles include Violetta (La traviata), Mimì (La bohème), Micaëla (Carmen), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Liù (Turandot), Manon (Manon), Contessa Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Giulietta and Antonia (Les Contes d'Hoffmann), Dido (Dido and Aeneas), and Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), while on the concert platform she sings Strauss Vier letzte Lieder, Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 and Verdi’s Requiem.

Acclaimed internationally as one of the finest lyric tenors of his generation, Charles Castronovo has sung at most of the world’s leading opera houses, including the Royal Opera House – Covent Garden, Paris Opera, Metropolitan Opera, Berlin State Opera, Vienna State Opera, Teatro Real in Madrid, Theatre Royale de la Monnaie in Brussels, Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, San Francisco Opera and Chicago Lyric Opera. In the 2017/18 season, Castronovo will return to the Deutsche Oper Berlin for his debut as Don José in Carmen, which he will subsequently perform at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse. He will also sing Alfredo in La traviata at the Paris Opera and Bavarian State Opera, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte at the Metropolitan Opera, Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and Rodolfo in La bohème with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

Observe and learn from internationally-acclaimed singers Angel Blue and Charles Castronovo in an intimate masterclass on April 29, at the Victoria Concert Hall Dance Studio.
