Synopsis

Young talents abound in Prodigious 2026! This year, young musicians take on a complete symphony, playing Schubert's Fifth Symphony side-by-side with the musicians of re:Sound, as well as Polish composer Wojciech Kilar’s dazzling masterpiece Orawa.

Topping this off will be Cathy Chen Xi, first prize winner of the 2025 Hengqin International Mozart Competition, who performs Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 4 with re:Sound.

The Prodigious concert series, started in 2024, aims to showcase exceptionally talented Singaporeans and give them the opportunity of playing solo with re:Sound, without a conductor. This was later expanded to include a “side-by-side” component, where young musicians sit with re:Sound musicians to experience the focus, commitment and satisfaction that comes from rehearsing and performing in a conductor-less chamber orchestra.
