Associate Principal Horn

One of Asia’s leading orchestras, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) provides artistic inspiration through its recordings, international tours, outreach and education, chamber music, and concert series. The SSO currently performs at the world-renowned Esplanade Concert Hall and at its long-term home, the Victoria Concert Hall.

The SSO invites applications from outstanding musicians for the following position:

ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL HORN

Salary and Benefits

  • Basic starting salary: Approx SGD 83,000 to SGD 128,000 p.a. (approx. USD 65,500 to USD 101,020) p.a. Salary will be commensurate with experience and abilities.
  • Low progressive personal income tax for a tax resident.
  • 52 paid-weeks a year, including 6 weeks of paid annual leave in addition to statutory holidays and other leave benefits.
  • Medical, dental, personal medical insurance for employee and eligible dependents, work injury compensation, travel insurance, instrument maintenance and insurance benefits.
  • Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents will receive monthly employer’s Central Provident Fund (CPF) contribution based on prevailing contribution rate. Musicians on Work Passes will receive monthly fixed allowance in lieu of employer’s CPF contribution which is approximately up to SGD 16,320 per annum.
  • Musicians on Work Passes will also receive an additional monthly housing allowance to assist with rental and children’s school fees.

  5. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a live audition on 20 July 2026.

  6. Those who are successful at the live audition on 20 July 2026 will be invited to participate in a trial with the orchestra, scheduled for either 24-28 November, 5-9 January 2027 or 12-15 January 2027.

  7. All applicants must be available to accept the position if offered.

  8. Successful applicants who are offered the position, and have accepted it, should commence work within a reasonable period of the offer.
