Under the baton of Music Director Hans Graf, the SSO performs at the world-renowned Esplanade Concert Hall and at its long-term home, the Victoria Concert Hall, in Singapore.

The Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) is conducting an international search for a Concertmaster.
The SSO is Singapore’s flagship orchestra and founded in 1979. Over the last 40 years, the full-time professional orchestra has grown in stature and has collaborated with great artistes, such as Neeme Järvi, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Lang Lang, Yo-Yo Ma, Diana Damrau, Janine Jansen, Leonidas Kavakos, Gil Shaham and Martha Argerich. The SSO has toured regularly, with invitations to the BBC Proms, the Prague Spring International Music Festival, and the Dresden Music Festival.
At home, the SSO plays regularly at the Esplanade Concert Hall, Singapore’s premier performance venue, while more intimate concerts are held at the historic Victoria Concert Hall. The well-loved national orchestra also makes community appearances and plays a significant role in concerts for the young.
Interested candidates should possess musicianship of the highest level, to lead the Orchestra to greater artistic heights. The successful candidate may:
- Be associated with a named Chair
- Receive an instrument loan from the orchestra’s donors
- Be recommended for teaching positions

The SSO currently performs at the world-renowned Esplanade Concert Hall and at its long-term home, the Victoria Concert Hall.

Salary and Benefits
- Basic starting salary: Approx SGD 65,000 to SGD 90,500 p.a. (approx. USD 48,500 to USD 67,500) p.a. Salary will be commensurate with experience and abilities.
- Low personal income tax between 7% and 11.5% for a tax resident.
- 52 paid weeks a year, including 6 weeks of paid annual leave in addition to statutory holidays and other leave benefits.
- Medical, dental, work injury compensation, travel insurance and instrument insurance benefits.
- Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents will receive monthly Central Provident Fund (CPF) contribution based on prevailing contribution rate. Musicians on Work Passes will receive monthly fixed allowance in lieu of CPF contribution which is approximately SGD 10,000 per annum.

The Executive’s main responsibility is to assist with content creation and coordination, as well as plan and deliver integrated marketing campaigns for assigned projects, including managing media buys and creatives and working with our agencies and partners.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Event coordination
- Content creation: Work with Content Lead to conceptualize and produce video and photo content for use on social media, including working with production houses and collaboration partners.
- Manage SSO Instagram (youth engagement), as well as provide support for other social media platforms where required.
- Develop and deliver an integrated marketing plan in line with business priorities and using a data-driven approach for assigned projects, including budgeting, monitoring marketing spend and ticket sales, monitoring campaign performance, creative brief-ins and quality checks for public-facing marketing materials.
- Plan and deliver email marketing campaigns using CRM, including monitoring campaign performance.
- Assist with website updates for assigned projects
- Join the team for filming and photography at rehearsals
- Undertake Front-of-House duties for events where rostered
REQUIREMENTS
- Passion for classical music or the performing arts
- Candidates with part-time or internship experience in a related role will have an advantage
- A university degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline
- Ability to work with data

The Executive, Development is part of the Development team, which aims to enhance the financial resources of the Singapore Symphony Group. The Executive, Development will contribute to the work of stewarding patrons from philanthropic and corporate organisations and individuals by supporting donor relations and during events.
Reports to: Manager, Development
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Administration
- Manage general donation administration via Salesforce including
- Donation processing and issuing receipts related to donations
- List generation: pilling and compiling leads from existing database; highlighting individuals and corporate donation up for renewals
- Maintenance of donor and donation database
- Draft and send personalised Thank You emails/letters from time to time
- Reserve, distribute and track donor benefits according to agreed patron and sponsor benefits
- Compile quarterly donor acknowledgement lists, and update the SSO website, concert programme booklets, and donor wall situated at Victoria Concert Hall
- Compile quarterly donations for inclusion in management reports
- Assist with letter shopping and e-mailers
Engagement
- Respond to Patron queries and requests in a timely manner
- Draft and send communications such as
- Concert/company information update to donors and;
- donor invitations: collate RSVPs and follow up
Others
- Any other matters arising which would be essential in keeping sponsors, donors and potential donors delighted with the professionalism of the company

REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or degree holder in any discipline

The Graphic & Digital Designer is part of the Communications, Digital and Marketing team.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and Production
Design and/or produce the following key products. The exact extent of your work and responsibilities will depend on your level of experience and expertise.
- The Singapore Symphony’s annual season brochure
- Concert programme booklets
The Designer will coordinate with external vendors should these projects be done externally.
Creative Support
Working with department teammates, interns and external vendors to design or provide design support to such items as:
- Original artwork for use as concert key visuals, posters etc.
- Sourcing, curating, editing and adapting pre-existing assets (e.g. artist photos) for ads, social media, websites, etc.
- Ad hoc brochures, flyers, posters and print ads
- Merchandise
- Video production for branding or social media purposes, such as editing footage and photos into trailers
Brand Guardianship & Marketing
To become familiar with the brand guidelines and identity of the Singapore Symphony Group, in order to uphold the brand integrity and quality of design work done within the company and by external parties.
Your design ethic should be geared towards the business of marketing, with a keen eye for what sells events and good taste in representing the Singapore Symphony brand.

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Orchestra Management. Key responsibilities are to manage and coordinate Singapore Symphony Group’s (SSG) digital production efforts and produce digital video content when required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
This includes but not limited to the following:
- Project manage the production of Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) digital concerts, including planning, scheduling, quality checks, and working with vendors and internal teams to ensure that digital content is of a high quality reflecting SSG’s position as a leading arts company in Singapore
- Oversee and project manage SSO digital live streams, including coordination between platform providers, vendors, and internal teams
- Oversee and project manage supplementary content to the SSO digital concerts
- Oversees the post-production processes and monitors the progress and quality of the overall post-production processes
- Ensure that the video content from the vendor is produced according to specifications for multiple platforms
- Ensure timely delivery of video content to meet SSG’s digital production requirements
- Manage vendor relationships, including working with external production houses and video directors. Contribute positively to the ongoing development of SSG’s digital and online strategy and its related support and resource structures
- Manage the archival of digital assets

REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of classical music is required
- Possess at least a Diploma or higher in a related discipline, such as in Media, Creative Multimedia, Mass Communication, Music, or equivalent
- Hands-on knowledge of video production/editing and proficiency in video editing software found in the Adobe Creative Suite, e.g. Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.
- Good understanding and up-to-date knowledge of digital video recording technology
- Experience working with live/stage production is an advantage

The role of the Senior Executive, Corporate Communications, is to enhance SSG’s image and reputation as an Institution of Public Character (IPC), and extend its reach through internal and external communications.
Reports to: Head of Communications, Digital & Marketing
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Organisation-level Communications
- Develop, drive and review communications strategy in consultation with the cross-departmental integrated communications team and ensure that communications are aligned with the Group’s strategic objectives and brand values.
- Lead and deliver corporate collaterals, including bi-monthly donor newsletters, SSG annual report.
- Manage and create content for corporate social media platforms including LinkedIn to communicate the Group’s activities.
Government and Diplomatic Communications
- Build government and diplomatic relationships while developing a government and diplomatic contact database.
- Work on office holder and GOH invitations.
- Coordinate with CEO, participating stakeholders, photographer, when applicable, at events.
- Steward government bodies on-site and work closely with their comms team to accommodate requests and post-event collaterals while safeguarding the Group’s interests.
Corporate Social Responsibility Programme
- Plan and carry out CSR programme including concert and event invitation to beneficiaries.
- Collate feedback for reporting purposes.
- Develop and maintain the contact database of beneficiary organisations.
General
- Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with ad-hoc events and tasks such as media launch receptions, proofreading various collaterals etc.
- Supervise communications intern where applicable.
