MANAGER, COMMUNICATIONS
The Manager, Communications is responsible for overseeing and managing stakeholder communications, public relations, and media relations for the company, ensuring that the Singapore Symphony Group’s key messages and outcomes are well communicated to our stakeholders.
REPORTS TO: Head, Communications, Digital & Marketing
SUPERVISES: Senior Executive, Marketing Communications and Executive, Corporate Communications
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Communications & Brand
- Develop and lead communications strategy, ensuring that communications and brand marketing are aligned with the Group’s strategic objectives and brand values.
- Ensure effective internal and external messaging by managing public announcements on the Group’s activities.
- Lead the production of corporate collaterals, including SSG annual report and donor e-newsletters to communicate the Group’s activities.
- Draft welcome messages and speeches for corporate collaterals and key donor events.
- Key member of crisis communications team.
Media Relations
- Lead communications team to plan and deliver media engagement activities, including media launch and media pitches.
- Lead team in managing media relationships, media monitoring and PR measurements to ensure accuracy.
- Lead spokespersons management, including media training, drafting talking points, and coordinating engagements for selected profiles.
- Manage relationship with PR agency.
Development Communications
- Collaborate with Development team to develop and implement communications strategies to engage prospective and existing donors.
- Lead and conceptualise fundraising collaterals, including impact reports, appeal letters, EDMs and donor invites.
- Conceptualise and produce content for fundraising campaigns, donor events and profile stories for SSG corporate platforms.
Leadership
- Supervise Senior Executive, Marketing Communications and Executive, Corporate Communications.
General
- Work with communications team to prepare quarterly updates, including PR measurements and media coverage consolidation, for the management report.
- Work with key funders to clear logo and text acknowledgements, as well as provide any supporting materials, content or features for their platforms as well as for funder reporting.
- Undertake concert duty where assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- A university degree in a related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of Corporate Communications/ Marketing Communications experience in the arts or non-profit sector.
- Interest in classical music.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Proficient in English.
- Flexibility to work some evenings, weekends and holidays during events.
