Biao Luo (Luo Biao)

Born into a musical family, Luo Biao began studying the violin at the age of six under his father. He later attended the Middle School attached to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where he was selected and sponsored by Richard Ferrin to study the violin and viola at Chicago Musical College.

He later went on to study with Heidi Castleman at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Luo Biao has worked with several orchestras including Toledo Symphony (as Principal Violist), Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Richmond Symphony and New World Symphony in Miami.

In 1994 he won Second Prize (the highest prize awarded) in the American String Teachers Association National Solo Competition. Luo Biao's interests include swimming, spending time with friends, and computers.
