Olga Alexandrova

Olga Alexandrova has been with the SSO since 1994. She was born in Moscow and began her studies on the double-bass in 1968 at Loktev's Ensemble and Prokofiev Music School with Nina Sharova and Irina Shevando. In 1972 she became a student of Rustem Gabdullin the double-bass virtuoso. Upon graduation from the Moscow State Conservatoire, Olga worked in Tula Chamber Orchestra and Stanislavsky Moscow Opera Theatre. In 1982 she joined the USSR Ministry of Culture State Symphony Orchestra under G. Rozhdestvensky. With this orchestra she performed in many countries in Europe, Asia and America and took part in many recording projects for the Russian label Melodia. Recordings include the complete symphonies of Bruckner, Shostakovich, Glazunov and Honegger.
