Victor Lee

Victor Lee is a distinguished double bassist from Hong Kong, recognized for his artistry and versatility in both orchestral and chamber music. He currently holds a position at the Hyogo Performing Arts Center in Japan and was previously a fellow with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (2021–2022).
Victor earned his Master of Music from the Colburn Conservatory of Music, where he studied under Peter Lloyd. He previously completed his Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), training under Eddie Zong Xiao-qian.
A passionate and dedicated performer, Victor has appeared at renowned festivals including the Spoleto Festival USA, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival, Asian Youth Orchestra Festival, and the Taipei Music Academy Festival. His artistry has been further shaped by masterclasses with esteemed musicians such as Timothy Cobb, Colin Paris, George Lomdaridze, Christoph Eschenbach, Esa-Pekka Salonen, and Jaap van Zweden.
Victor has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Oleg Kagan Memorial Fund Scholarship, the HKSAR Philharmonic Scholarships, and the 2nd runner-up award at the First Maggini International Double Bass Competition in 2018. That same year, he also won the HKAPA Concerto Trial.
