Eminent Japanese conductor-composer-harpsichordist-organist Masato Suzuki leads a multi-composer programme, all linked to Leipzig, great city of western classical music. Singapore-based pianist Albert Tiu stars in not one but two soloist showcases expounding Schumann’s irrepressible Romantic spirit and Chopin’s youthful poetry.
Besides the attraction for piano fans, this is an interesting look into how a culturally established city, in this case, Leipzig, acts as a wellspring of music.
