SSO POPS: THE MUSIC OF STAR WARS
On 19 & 20 December, the SSO is journeying to a galaxy far, far away with a concert celebrating John Williams' epic music for Star Wars.
The programme, conducted by Australian conductor Christopher Dragon, includes some of the most popular moments from the movies' scores - from the 'Imperial March' and 'Leia's Theme' to the beautiful 'Across the Stars'. The performances will also include themes from some of the most recent films in the series: The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.
The first of the pair of concerts takes place on the day Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is released in Singapore cinemas, 19 December.
Christopher Dragon is in his fourth season as the Associate Conductor of the Colorado Symphony. For three years he previously held the position of Assistant Conductor with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. He works regularly in Australia and has guest conducted the Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and West Australian Symphony Orchestras.
