SSO IN YOUR COMMUNITY: SINGAPORE RACECOURSE
On September 22, take a ride to the Singapore Racecourse in Kranji, northwest Singapore, at 7.30pm for a free hour-long concert of great music, all relating to horses. Presented under the Singapore Symphony Orchestra's SSO In Your Community Series, this community outreach concert is held in conjunction with the Singapore Tote Board’s 30th anniversary. The concert will be held at the Singapore Racecourse Parade Ring, with the support of the Singapore Turf Club as the venue partner.
To match the venue, the entire programme comprises music that is related to horses. Famous tunes include the Light Cavalry Overture as well as the William Tell Overture used in The Lone Ranger. The SSO will be conducted by Associate Conductor Joshua Tan.
In addition, various fringe activities will also be held, including appearances by the Singapore Turf Club’s mascots Racer and Clover, and giveaways of light sticks, paper lanterns and mooncakes in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Join us at the Singapore Turf Club Parade Ring. Admission is free.
