SSO POPS: TO BROADWAY, WITH LOVE
On Friday 3 April something's coming... something good. The Singapore Symphony Orchestra is celebrating the sounds of Broadway in a very special SSO Pops concert at the Esplanade Concert Hall: To Broadway, with Love.
Gerard Salonga conducts music from The Lion King, Phantom of the Opera, Les Mis, Sound of Music and much more. He's joined by an all-star cast of vocalists: Carla Guevara-Laforteza, Lara Maigue, David Ezra and Sean Ghazi.
Gerard Salonga is the Music Director of the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra in Manila, and for two seasons served as Assistant Conductor of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. In January of 2019 he began his term as Resident Conductor of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra in Kuala Lumpur.
In 2016 he was named one of the assistant conductors of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. He has worked closely with distinguished conductors such as Jaap van Zweden, Yu Long, Jun Märkl, Hans Graf, John Wilson, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Mark Wigglesworth, and Leonard Slatkin.

Be charmed at an exuberant evening filled with great overtures, show stopping ballads, finger snapping, toe-tapping tunes and thrilling 11 o’clock numbers performed by distinguished vocalists coupled with the lush sound of a full symphonic orchestra.
