Synopsis
The Singapore National Youth Orchestra (SNYO), under the baton of Joshua Tan, continues its China tour with a performance in Shenzhen, showcasing the artistic excellence and depth of the young musicians.
The concert opens with Echoes from the Heartland - an SNYO commission by Singaporean composer Tony Makarome. Renowned violinist Ning Feng takes the centre stage in Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No. 2, a work of haunting lyricism and emotional complexity. Concluding the concert is Dvořák's exuberant Symphony No. 6, a testament to Czech folk dances and pastoral charm.
