Synopsis

Romeo and Juliet inspired many a composer to depict the fate of its star-crossed lovers in music, including Prokofiev’s striking 1935 score casting Shakespeare’s classic as a ballet. It is by turns lusciously lyrical or sharply modern, but always full of emotion – just like Brahms’ First Symphony. Witness the Singapore National Youth Orchestra and Principal Conductor Joshua Tan bring these masterpieces to life.
