Our Conductors


Hannu Lintu / Quantedge Music Director
This season sees Lintu’s tenure as Music Director of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra begin – he joined the orchestra for several performances last season including for Haydn’s Nelson Mass and Shostakovich’s 7th Leningrad Symphony. Regular highlights of his calendar include returns to the BBC, St Louis, Toronto, Baltimore and Detroit Symphonies, as well as productions of Strauss’ Elektra and a world premiere of Sebastian Fagerlund’s The Morning Star at Finnish National Opera where he concluded his tenure as Chief Conductor at the end of the 25/26 season. In addition to Singapore, Lintu continues his tenure as Music Director of Orquestra Gulbenkian in Lisbon; and Artistic Partner of the Lahti Symphony Orchestra and Artistic Director of the International Sibelius Festival.

Nathanaël Iselin / Associate Conductor
In 2026/27, French conductor Nathanaël Iselin will make his debuts with Hong Kong Philharmonic, Danish National Symphony Orchestra and Trondheim Symphony Orchestra alongside returns to orchestras including the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK) and Aalborg Symphony Orchestra. Recognised for his nuanced orchestral colours and rhythmic precision, Iselin’s repertoire strengths range from the French and Nordic repertoire through to late Romantic and contemporary, with a particular affinity for the works of Debussy, Ravel, Sibelius, Prokofiev and Stravinsky.

Lan Shui (BBM) / Conductor Laureate
Lan Shui (Music Director, 1997-2019) is renowned for his abilities as an orchestral builder and for his passion in commissioning, premiering and recording new works by leading Asian composers. He is the recipient of several international awards, as well as Singapore’s Cultural Medallion – our highest accolade in the arts, and the Bintang Bakti Masyarakat (Public Service Star, or BBM).

Hans Graf / Conductor Laureate
Armed with a spirit of musical curiosity and discovery, creative programming and his commanding presence on stage, Austrian conductor Hans Graf (Music Director, 2020-2026) has raised orchestras to new heights while winning audiences young and old alike.

Eudenice Palaruan / Choral Director
Choral Director of the Singapore Symphony Chorus, Eudenice Palaruan wears many hats as chorister, composer, arranger and music pedagogue.

Wong Lai Foon / Choirmaster
Choirmaster of the Singapore Symphony Children’s and Youth Choirs, Wong Lai Foon enjoys working with young people and nurturing their love for music and singing.

Ellissa Sayampanathan / Assistant Choral Conductor
Ellissa Sayampanathan is the Assistant Choral Conductor of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. She is a Singaporean conductor and music educator who believes in the building of community and music literacy through choral singing.
