Arts philanthropy remains essential in maintaining a dynamic arts scene in Singapore. In 2022, over $45 million was contributed to advance our local arts ecosystem.

Now in its 40th year, the Patron of the Arts Awards (POAA) continues to honour the strong patronage and support from the corporate sector and individuals. Held on 12 September 2023 at the Equarius Hotel, the awards ceremony acknowledged 313 individuals and 91 organisations for their contribution.

It is a remarkable achievement that demonstrates the strong and sustained support for the arts in Singapore. And it is indeed a strong testament to how our people are recognising the immense value that the arts and artists bring to our society. Not just in the museum and the galleries, but how it resonates differently in each of us, both deeply and sustainably. And as we move forward as a nation, the arts and culture will be an important driver of that progress.

Mr Edwin Tong
Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, & Second Minister for Law

As a beneficiary of arts patronage in Singapore, we would like to express our gratitude to donors who have generously contributed to the development of a sustainable arts sector both through cash contribution and in-kind donations. Our mission in bringing memorable shared experiences with music would not have been possible without their unwavering support.

This year, a new category Honorary Patron of the Arts was introduced to recognise patrons who have been awarded Distinguished Patron of the Arts Award over 20 times. Special mention to one of our donors, UOB, for being one of two organisations to receive this recognition in its inaugural year.
