TINE THING HELSETH · ARUTIUNIAN TRUMPET CONCERTO
Acclaimed Norwegian trumpeter Tine Thing Helseth makes her Singapore debut with one of the best-loved of 20th century trumpet showpieces, Arutiunian’s Trumpet Concerto, a vigorous display of Armenian lyricism and flavour. Saint-Saëns’ impressions of Algeria, De Falla’s Three-Cornered Hat, Ravel’s Alborada and the irresistible momentum of Bolero swirl and dance together in this outpouring of musical riches!
Tine Thing Helseth has rapidly established herself as one of the foremost trumpet soloists of our time, garnering critical acclaim for her soulful, lyrical sound and collaborative approach to music-making. She has worked with some of the world’s leading orchestras to date, including the Bamberger Symphoniker, NDR Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, SWR Symphonieorchester Stuttgart, Gürzenich-Orchester Cologne, Tonkünstler-Orchester Vienna, Philharmonia and BBC Philharmonic. In 2007, she had the rare honour of being the first ever classical artist to be nominated for a Norwegian Grammy® Award. Tine also continues embarking on regular tours with her ten-piece, all-female brass ensemble, tenThing.
