Advancing Artistic Excellence and Championing Singapore’s Music

Since its founding in 1979, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra has played a defining role in shaping our cultural landscape through artistic excellence and innovative programmes. Across each season, the SSO and its affiliated performing groups demonstrate their capabilities and remarkable versatility across a wide range of repertoire – from symphonic masterworks and intimate chamber music, to contemporary pieces and premieres by Singaporean composers.
A World-Class Orchestra
The Singapore Symphony seeks to engage and inspire through musical excellence. Under the leadership of acclaimed music directors and guest conductors, the SSO has performed and collaborated with some of the world’s most celebrated soloists and performers, who bring their spectacular artistry to our shores and whose appearances affirm our standing as an orchestra of international calibre. Past guest artists and conductors include Martha Argerich, Yo-Yo Ma, Diana Damrau, Gustavo Dudamel, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Joe Hisaishi.
Showcasing Singaporean Artists
As Singapore’s flagship orchestra, the SSO remains deeply committed to championing the nation’s music and artists. Through commissions, premieres and performance platforms such as the annual National Day Concert and President’s Young Performers Concert, we celebrate the prowess and accomplishments of our homegrown musicians. The Singapore Symphony Group also frequently collaborates with local practitioners and arts organisations across cultures and disciplines, to encourage artistic innovation and strengthen the wider arts ecosystem in Singapore.
Your support enables us to present bold, diverse and imaginative concerts each season spanning eras, cultures and musical traditions, while upholding the highest artistic standards. Through your generosity, we can strive for greater heights together and create significant opportunities for Singaporean artists and composers to be heard on regional and global stages.
